There are few combinations of beauty and the “best” that are as elegant as these. Chocolate-covered strawberries have long garnished the plates and pillows of first-class restaurants and hotels, and now, with Dolci frutta, nothing could be easier to create — simply melt, dip, cool, and enjoy.

Dolci frutta is the original hard chocolate shell for fruit. Microwave and dip right in the container, then place on waxed paper to harden. Since Dolci frutta hardens at room temperature, strawberries and other fruit can be dipped ahead of time to decorate cakes or make a light dessert. Want to be a hit at your next PTO potluck? Bring a plate of dipped strawberries and watch the kids ignore the cookies. Really.

Strawberries are almost everyone’s favorite fruit, and for once, what is most delicious is also most nutritious!

Did you know that a single serving of strawberries (eight medium berries) contain more vitamin C than an orange! They’re naturally low in calories and nutrient-rich with folic acid, fiber, potassium, and disease-fighting antioxidants. In fact, strawberries are so nutritious, research is finding that they may reduce the risk of heart disease and some cancers, and help memory.

A chocolate-dipped strawberry is a sweet indulgence you can live with!

MORE THAN JUST STRAWBERRIES

Obviously, dipped strawberries are the tops, but don’t stop dipping when the berries get scarce. Below are a few ideas from our kitchens …and some of the best don’t have a berry about them.

Dried Fruit dipped in Dolci frutta is a universal favorite among all our “taste-testers”. These chocolatey, sweet and chewy delights - from pears to apricots to pineapple and (surprise) even prunes — are great!

Raisins …by themselves or clustered with nuts — just stir into melted chocolate and drop onto waxed paper. Add other chopped dried fruit, crunchy cereal, or pretzels! You’re the chef!

GO NUTS! …by themselves or clustered with raisins — dip larger nuts individually or stir smaller ones into melted Dolci frutta to make delicious nut clusters.

GO CRAZY! …and dip a multitude of different-colored fresh and dried fruit to create festive, elegant party arrangements. Bored with the same old shrimp and cheese platter? Surprise your guests with something new!

Holiday Dipping …everything festive can be chocolate-dipped with Dolci frutta. Dip cookies, cakes, pound cakes, and yes, even fruitcake!

…and our favorite? We thought you’d never ask! Thinly slice a navel orange — don’t peel it! — gently pat it dry on both sides, and dip it in Dolci frutta. The taste surprise? Rich Dolci frutta and sweet, juicy orange, set off by the bitter orange flavor of the rind.
